Harmony at Beverley

Rehearsal at Beverley Minster

Saturday was a lovely day, and along with Shona, Jess, Jay we decided to take a trip to Beverley, Jessica had been a while ago on a School geography trip and wanted to return.

We started off by walking through the town, with me strolling sperately taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling streets. We met up and were all feeling quite hungry, so we decided to stop at Wetherspoons for some lunch. The food was delicious, I had five bean chilly in a potato (355 cals) and we enjoyed the opportunity to sit down and rest our feet for a while.

After lunch, we continued our strolls through the town. Shona, Jess, and Jay were keen to check out the shops more, but I was more interested in exploring the narrow walkways and alleyways of Beverley with my camera. It was a busy day, with lots of people around, and there was so much to see and observe.

Eventually, I found myself heading towards the Minster, and as I approached, I was greeted with the most beautiful sounds of music. It turned out that the orchestra, along with some solo singers, were rehearsing for that evening’s concert. I couldn’t help but stop and listen for a while. The music was so moving and uplifting, and I felt myself getting lost in the moment.

The interior of the MInster was breathtakingly beautiful, with stunning stained-glass windows and intricate carvings. We wandered around, taking in the grandeur of the place, before stopping to speak with one of the welcomers.

Jessica, and Jay are particularly interested in the bell-ringing, which is something they get involved with. The welcomer was very knowledgeable and was happy to answer all of our questions. It was fascinating to learn about the history and traditions of bell-ringing.

I think it was a good day in Beverley.
