Our paths crossed when I was out making the images for my selection in the book Ginko001:The Churchyards. Jimmy was also making images with his cameraphone and we stopped to chat about the beautiful ight the parish church was wrapped in that morning, it was about 8.45am, and the snow was acting like a reflector to bounce the light back up. We chatted for a while and Jimmy told me how once he got covered in smoke from the steam train as he leant out of the carriage to photograph the stunning scenery as he travelled on what is described as the greatest railway journey in the world, the Jacobite from Fort William to Mallaig. You have to see it, he was telling me, as I took this shot, whilst you can. I use a different image of Jimmy in the book, and it is in dark black and white tones, as it fitted my mood that morning. But Jimmy cheered me up. You can find out more about the greatest railway journey in the world by clicking here Share this:FacebookX
