Grandad

he fell on a beach
it was 1940 and over the sea
many years before

As we strolled back to the campsite after speaking to the retiring technician I saw this couple looking out to sea, and thought of the loss of my own grandad who died with the Canadian Army on a beach in France. Of course the man in the photograph might not be the girl’s grandad, but that is photography, we never really know.
