I did not make new photographs today. Flixborough was still on my mind as I walked around my garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Crowle, Howard spoke about Thankful Villages\u2014places where all returned from war. That conversation took me back to Flixborough, which holds that quiet gratitude, yet also the memory of the 1970s explosion, carried in its memorials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I found myself thinking about Lilac Cottage beside the church. The name felt gentle against the weight of the place. Behind the sign, a tree was in bloom\u2014perhaps cherry, I thought, though I was not certain. That uncertainty stayed with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lilac blooms in spring. It speaks of renewal, of cycles continuing.
Cherry blossom, if it was that, speaks of something more fleeting\u2014of time passing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In that moment, the place seemed to hold both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
